ELITEBOOK 8740w
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have  ELITEBOOK 8740w with 4G RAM im trying to ubgrade the RAM by using 2X8G RAM Kingstone  KVR1333D3s9/8G, i used only one in main slot and used 2X8 in 2 slots  all trials didn't work , the Power is on but windows is not starting . i used the Old 4 G in slot 1 and the new 8 G in 2nd slot , didnt work also ....any Ideas?

ok i went to properties  i have intel(R) core(TM) i7 CPU  M620@2.67GHZ 2.67GHZ

Hi,

The notebook only accepts 4GB modules as we can see on page 2 of service manual. The quad core models have 4 slots and accept 16GB of RAM. Dual core models accept 8GB of RAM (2x4GB).
