Pavilion 15-cs0989nl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm wondering if it might be possible to upgrade RAM of this laptop:

https://support.hp.com/it-it/product/hp-pavilion-15-cs0000-laptop-pc/20284004/model/24269474/documen...

I think it's creepy that they write the standard RAM memory equipped on this product, without saying anything about the maximum RAM supported (eventually also if the maximum is the same of the standard factory equipped, so it means no possible upgrade).

On the other hand that part "8 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (2 x 4 GB)" seems related to 2 slots, so?

You're very welcome.

What that statement means is that only an HP authorized service center is supposed to do the upgrades.

If you look at chapter 5, and review the disassembly procedures in order to remove and replace the memory and believe you can do the work without breaking anything in the process (thus voiding the warranty), feel free to do so.

With these new thin and light PC's, I recommend you purchase a set of notebook pry tools to help prevent scratching and marring the plastic.

Hi:

You have to find that info in the service manual.

Chapter 1, page 2 has that info.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06248419

The manual states that 2 x 8 GB of memory is supported but I see no reason why 2 x 16 GB wouldn't be supported as well.

Many forum members have installed 2 x 16 GB in HP notebooks with 8th gen core processors and two memory slots.

ok, first of all thanks for the quick answer, but actually in that page 2 chapter 1, at the first line of "Memory" section there is also written:

"MemoryTwo SODIMM memory module slots, non-customer-accessible/non-upgradable"

what does it mean?
