I have a question about whether or not I can upgrade my RAM to 16GB.

In the product manual it seems that it supports only up to 8GB, but in many places I've seen that it can be upgraded to 16GB with no problem whatsoever.

The thing that bugs me it's that in the manual it also shows that you can have "16GB (8GB*2)" so I'm wondering if "Supports up to 8GB" refers to each slot or if this is just a typo in the specification.

Thanks in advance for the help provided.

Hi:

If your notebook has an Intel core processor, it definitely supports 2 x 8 GB of memory.

You can do this to see how much memory your notebook can support:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

It probably supports 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-2666 MHz memory.
