Hi there,
I own a HP Zbook 15 G4 and I would like to upgrade my laptop. It currently has a 256 GB SSD and 8 GB RAM. I would like to insert an additional SSD and possibly another 8 GB of RAM if that's possible. I have no idea how to do this though or if this is possible at all, is there any guide around on how to do this for my model? Are there enough slots/room to do this?
Thanks in advance.

Here is the Service Manual:
It has 4 memory slots and can take up to 64 gigs of RAM in the form of 4 x 16 gig DDR4-2133 modules.
It has space for a pair of M.2 2280 gumstick drives plus a 2.5 inch hard drive or SSD.
I have the G3 model and based on the manual the configuration has not changed much. Mine has 16 gigs of RAM with 2 open slots and a 2.5 inch SSD for storage and boots from a 512 gig NVME/PCIe M.2 2280 disk.
Start on page 36 of the Manual for acccess to the internals. You will need a torx screwdriver to open the back panel which most people will not have in their toolkit. But it comes off very easily and the installation is not hard at all.
You almost certainly have a single 8 gig DDR4-2133 module. Put the second memory module in the front of the unoccupied bank so that you have 2 modules in the side by side front slots. All spelled out on page 39.
What kind of SSD do you have now? This is going to determine how we tell you to add one.
When I added an 8 gig module to mine I just went to Frys and picked up the house Patriot brand DDR4-2133 SO-DIMM 8 gig module and it ran fine with the original factory module:
Above module will work fine for you.
Post back with any more questions but please Accept as Solution if this is the answer you needed.
