HP 15-d069wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm trying to upgrade my memory  from 4 GB to 8GB. I've purchased a second  691740-001, 4GB DDR3 PC3L-12800 module to go with my old one of the same type. However,  I only get a black screen ( no error messages, LED lights come on and berping are heard) when both are in together. Separately, with the original and the new modules, my system is fine. Any suggestions?

Okay, I've made a second attempt. This time it boots in the 2nd slot only, but it  still only shows a black screen.
