My laptop has currently 4 GB DDR4 RAM 2133MHZ

can i upgrade it will a DDR4 4 GB RAM of 266 MHZ or 2400MHZ as im unable to find 2133 MHZ

will my laptop have a boost in performance?

Hi:

 

Yes, either a DDR4-2400 MHz chip or a DDR4-2666 MHz chip will work.

 

Either one will automatically bridge to 2133 MHz, which is the fastest speed your notebook's processor can run the memory at.

 

Adding a 4 GB memory chip will help in two ways...

 

1.  The obvious increase from 4 GB to 8 GB of memory.

 

2.  The not so obvious performance boost by adding a matching capacity memory chip.

 

That now allows the memory to run in the higher performing dual channel mode.

 

Right now the 4 GB memory is running in the lower performing single channel mode.
