My laptop: HP ProBook 450 15.6 inch G9 Notebook PC (6S7D6EA)

I want to change the RAM to Kingston FURY Impact 2x32GB DDR4 SODIMM PC4-25600 KF432S20IBK2/64

Is this model of RAM suitable for this laptop? Thanks.

Hello solarkey.

Generally speaking, when asking a question about gaming RAM modules on the HP community, you are going to be told that it's not a good idea to buy modules meant for high performance gaming systems, but should get more compatible RAM with normal timings. This is because HP laptops have been known to get very very picky and fussy when it comes to RAM, and greet their owner with a nice fat black screen after upgrading. HP doesn't consider these (formerly known as HyperX) modules as having guaranteed compatibility with any of its laptops. More to the point, Kingston doesn't consider these modules as having guaranteed compatibility with your system. If you go to the Kingston page for your model, you will see that only some KCP (branded) modules are considered as guaranteed to be compatible.

Having said all this, I personally have been using the exact kit you're asking about on 650/640 G8/G9 Probooks and never had any problems. The 6xx are very similar to the 4xx Probooks, so you should be fine. Unfortunately no one has come back to the forum to post about a 450 G8/G9/G10 successfully running this kit, but then again most people post here only when they buy RAM and it doesn't work. If you're OK with the small amount of risk involved, go ahead and purchase. If you want an ironclad guarantee, buy the KCP modules.... Or this plain 3200 cl22 dual-rank "CT2K32G4SFD832A" kit from Crucial.
