I just purchased an HP 17-ca2020nr for a work from home job. Was going to upgrade the RAM from 4gb but I'm reading that it's "not upgradable". I looked inside and there is an empty slot under the 4gb card. Can I install 16gb in that empty slot or am I SOL?
If so, I'm returning this today!

Hi:
Below is the link to the crucial memory report for your notebook.
https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/hp-17-ca2020nr
According to the report you can install as much as 2 x 16 GB of memory.
The service manual for the previous generation model series indicates the max is 2 x 8 GB, but the Crucial report is almost always correct.

Not upgradable means that HP wants the customers to have the upgrades performed by an authorized service center, although most folks just upgrade the memory themselves.
