RAM upgrade

HP ENVY x360 Convertible Laptop - 15t-ed100 touch
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

My 2020 HP ENVY x360 Convertible Laptop - 15t-ed100 touch came with 8Gb DDR4-3200 of RAM (2x4GB modules). Are the modules soldered (onboard)? Will I be able to add/upgrade to 16GB (2x8GB) if I need to?

Thanks

Hi:

Unfortunately, you are going to have to open up the notebook and find out, unless in the rare circumstance someone has already done that and can provide an accurate reponse.

Here's why...

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

Maintenance and Service Guide HP ENVY x360 15 Convertible PCIMPORTANT! This document is intended for...

Chapter 1 clearly states the memory is onboard and not upgradable, and comes pre-configured from the factory as listed.

However, chapter 5, pages 35 & 36 show a procedure for removing and replacing the memory.

If the memory was onboard, there would be no procedure listed for removing and replacing the memory.

Thank you Paul,

Appreciate it.

I'll post back if/when I open the laptop.

Thanks

Did you ever open the laptop and find out if the RAM is soldered or upgradeable?

No, I'll probably wait until the warranty expires.

Thanks
