Hi:

I do not recommend that you install performance or gaming memory in your notebook.

That is because the gaming/performance memory has faster timing speeds than the standard memory HP installed, and you can't make any adjustments in the BIOS.

You can install DDR4-3200 memory in your notebook, but it is only going to run at a max speed of 2400 MHz because that is the fastest speed your notebook's i5-8265U processor can run the memory at.

I recommend this DDR4-2666 MHz brand and part number...

Crucial 8GB DDR4-2666 SODIMM | CT8G4SFRA266 | Crucial IN

Thanks for your time and reply,

Laptop HP 15-da1xxx.

1.)I have already crucial 4gb RAM in my laptop, can I buy kingston RAM of 8gb 2666MHz? So that my laptop becomes 12gb?

2.)planning to buy 256gb SSD, please suggest me the best that suits my laptop HP 15-da1xxx.

3.) If i replace my hdd with 256gb SSD, how much I need to provide space for c:drive?

180gb is enough?

You're very welcome.

I recommend you stick with the Crucial memory, but if you want to buy the Kingston DDR4-2666 memory, that should be fine as long as it isn't the performance memory.

This is the part I recommend...

Part Number: KCP426SS8/8

Your notebook's M.2 slot supports NVMe SSD's so I recommend you buy one of those.

Suggested 250 GB SSD's:

Amazon.in: Buy Samsung 980 250GB Up to 3,500 MB/s PCIe 3.0 NVMe M.2 (2280) Internal Solid State Driv...

Amazon.in: Buy WD Blue™ SN570 NVMe™ 250GB SSD, Upto 3,300 MB/s Read, with Free 1 Month Adobe Creativ...

A 256 GB SSD should be fine as long as you don't have a ton of programs and files you plan on installing on it.

Windows should use less than 32 GB of drive space.

Tq for your answer, hope you are doing good.

As your suggestion ordered 8gb crucial RAM, but iam not able to use both the RAMs, i mean 4gb(my system had) and 8gb(newly ordered). If i insert both RAMs and start the laptop, getting blank screen with blinking light at capslock key.

If i try to use either one of the RAM then my laptop is working.

Please help me to use both the RAMs i,e (4gb+8gb)=12gb

now iam using 8gb newly ordered, keeping 4gb RAM outside.

Hi:

Sorry that you can't use both memory chips together.

Unfortunately, I don't know why that would be.

You may just want to order a second 8 GB Crucial memory chip so you have 16 GB running in dual channel mode.
