Hello community, I need to replace my RTC CMOS battery on my HP Pavilion Power Laptop 15-cb0xx. Can anyone tell me which battery to buy? Also I have opened the back of my laptop but it seems that HP has purposely buried it under tons of stuff so it really makes our lives very difficult to change it :-). Any idea where I can find it? and where I can get some tuition videos about this delicate operation? Thank you all

Hi:
Yes, HP sure did bury that battery. You have to remove the motherboard to get to it.
Unfortunately, there is no part number listed for the battery, but the illustration in chapter 5, page 55 seems to indicate it is nothing more than the common CR2032 coin cell battery found almost anywhere, which is probably why it indicates 'not spared.'

Hi there, 🙂
I wonder if you might be able to direct me to where I can find a compatible replacement battery. I am not really tech savvy. So, my head feels as if it is about to explode.
What do I need to type in when searching a replacement battery for this laptop model?
My battery just started to drain yesterday. Not charging beyond a certain point. Each time I turn off & back on, the maximum charge limit drops.
Thanks

on page 37 or 45 of 107, it has the battery number there:
Description Spare part number
Battery, 4 cell, 70 Wh, 4.55 Ah 917724-855
I think this might be the one:

Hi:
After checking chapter 3, page 19, item 19, I agree that the main battery has this part number and description: Battery (4 cell, 70 Wh, 4.55 Ah) HP part # 917724-855.
Unfortunately, HP does not sell the battery, so you will have to buy an aftermarket equivalent.
HP Parts Store - HP Computer Parts - HP Printer Parts - Compaq Parts
The one you selected matches the part number and you can also check Amazon, which has several listed for various prices.
