Hi I need help,

Few months ago I was informed I could upgrade the ram from my HP ENVY x360 - 15-cn0850nz0 from 8 to up to 16 gigs.

I have followed the insytructions an i bought a Crucial 16gb kit (2x8) DDR4-2666 SODIMM I carefully installed it.'

I tried to but but the compuetr does not boot anymore, I went back to the 8gb and also no boot....

Aha!

Good to hear that.

If it doesn't boot with the battery installed, the battery is probably toast.

I say that because, based on your report, it must boot up with the power adapter connected.

That means that the charging/power circuit on the system board is OK.

Hi @Araf33

If you reinstalled the original 8 GB and it no longer bots there is another issue. You might not have seated the module fully or you inadvertently unplugged something.

Was the 16 GB kit one that was guaranteed compatible by Crucial memory?

The kit should have been the following  one.

Hi hi,

Yes I got Crucial 16GB Kit (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2666 SODIMM.

I have reinstalled the old 8GB now. But when I plug in the light button does not even turn on.

I have looked at it and there is nothing turned off. I can send a picture.

Any other ideas?

Hi hi,

So I found out what was wrong.

Unfortunatley when I installed the ram, I didnt disconected the battery.

So now I removed the battery, the computer booted and started and works perfect.

Now a second question, how do i kow if the battery is damaged? or i have another issue?

Dont want to buy a new battery to find out that it is another issue.

Kr,
