HP Pavilion Power - 15-Cb007nt

Hello, I have HP Pavilion Power - 15-Cb007nt and the current 8gb RAM is not enough for me.

I decided to buy the same as the installed RAM (HP26D4S9S8MH-8) to socket into the 2nd slot, but there is no stock.

1. Will there be problems if I buy a similar (but not the same) 8 gb RAM? If not, any suggestions?

2. If I decide to buy a single 16gb (or 2 x 16gb), which RAM should I buy?

Thanks in advance for helping.

Sometimes its hard to find the exact OEM chip used in your computer. Memory can be the same type it does not have to be exactly the same product by stock number. The memory is Kingston DDR4-2666 SO-DIMM single rank. Another chip of that general type would be fine, such as Crucial or Samsung:

This would pair fine with the existing module to have 16 gb in total.

Hello, thanks for the reply. The one you shared appears to be CL19 and as far as I know, the current one is CL17.

Wouldn't this be a problem?

I would run CPU-Z to check the actual latency your memory is running. CL=19 is pretty standard for DDR4-2666 SO-DIMM. I also think your laptop actually runs the memory at -2400 speed so it would be a different latency. HP notebooks generally run memory at very conservative timings. If you find you need CL=17 modules we can help you find one I think. All the ones I am finding are CL = 19.

That was my surprise as well. It seems my memory runs at latency 17 though.

Check the image please.

Runs at 17 latency at DDR4-2400 speed. At 2666 speed (if it could do that) latency would be 20. The DDR4-2666 with CL=19 latency would run CL=17 latency just fine at 2400 speed.

Thanks for the info. Then I will buy the one you suggested. Thanks for your help!
