Ram Upgrade

I have an HP Notebook 15 da1021tx, and I want to upgrade its RAM.
It currently has a Samsung DDr4 RAM module that came built-in. In Task Manager, it shows 2400 MHz, but in CPU-Z it displays 2666 MHz with CL-17 latency. The laptop is 4 years old, but the RAM performance is still good.

I have a few questions:

1. Should I replace the existing RAM or can I add another RAM module from a different brand?

2. What type of RAM is compatible with my laptop?

3. What CAS latency (CL) should I look for?

4. Can I use an 8GB RAM module along with the built-in 4GB RAM?

Your notebook's i5-8265U processor can only run the memory at a maximum speed of 2400 MHz, which is why the DDR4-2666 MHz memory is running at 2400 CL17.

The memory chip in your notebook is DDR4-2666 CL19

You can install another 4 GB, 8 GB or 16 GB DDR4-2400 CL17, DDR4-2666 CL19 or DDR4-3200 CL22 memory chip in the empty slot.

If it were me, I would opt for 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) running in dual channel mode.

Remove the 4 GB chip and install 2 x 8 GB of DDR4 memory having the above specs I mentioned.

I would base my decision on whichever memory cost less for the same manufacturer.

As I wrote before, I would have no idea.

I only have used Crucial memory for upgrades.

Whatever you buy just make sure it has the CL specs for the speeds I posted.
