Ram upgradation

Actually i am having the hp pavillion model no 15do17tu

basicaaly i want to upgrade its ram from 2 gb to 8 gb can anyone suggest me how i can fins a proper ram that is compatible with my pc.

i am having a same configuration ram of elpida company but my pc is booting  as it is showing caps light 3 blinks after one sec

what to do can anyone suggest me please...

how i can buy ram or find ram exactly to previous ram

if i online purchase the crucial ram it works for me or not.

because if i online purchase  it no options to returns or replace back it.

so please suggest me a good ram and hope so it works for me sir....!

The crucial website indicates that those memory part numbers are what you would use for your notebook...

i have replaced the same with 4 gb ram but now the issue is 

i want to upgrade it to 8 gb ram but after inserting ram in both ram slots pc would not boot 

i consult with it administrator  he was asking that ram slot is not working. or it may be faulty

what's the issue i dont know.

i have not opened yet laptop since it was purchased

how the ram slot be faulty 

ANYBODY van help me in this issue....?

Did you buy the  4 GB Crucial memory with that part number?

I don't think the memory slot is faulty because normally if the slot is faulty, the notebook works fine but the memory in that slot is not seen.

Unfortunately, I would not be able to help you as to why the memory is not working in both slots.

sir,

the ram which is previously installed in my laptop

i ejected the ram and insert into second ram slot but the pc would not boot up

it was blinking caps lock button 

whats the issue i dont know

how to troubleshoot it

beacuse if the ram is working in slot one 

then it will also works fine on ram slot  2

please suggest me to troubleshoot sir..

Some model notebooks require that the memory be installed in slot 1 before you can install memory in slot 2.

I am not a PC repair tech by trade or training, so unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to **bleep**.

If you have another DDR3L memory chip of any capacity (2 GB, 4 GB) install it in the second slot and see if the PC works.
