HP Pavilion dv5-1235dx Entertainment Notebook PC

Can I upgrade the memory and the hard drive on an HP Pavilion dv6? To what size and Part number and or Name for those parts?

Also for some reason only about 7/8 of the screen from left to the right is the screen size (full)! There's an 1/8 or so that just won't add itself to the screen.

It's just black NO MATTER WHAT SETTING OR ANYTHING I DO. The whole part showing is  all there is though. It's the weirdest thing ever. I think I even reload or upgraded window and it still was like that. Any suggestions? I could get a different Laptop but a Sound Wise(I use it for DJing) and Running the way it use to it's been the best laptop ever. Even with no right or left bottoms on it.

I've used 4 different Dells and Other brands but this HP Pavilion dv6 1235dx out does them all! Even with on 4g Ram. I want to upgrade to 16 at least and a 2tb HDD if possible. My old reliable now just takes tooooo long to even become ready to use at start up and runs ridiculously slow. Help me save my favorite Laptop with good advice and part to use. Thanks
