HI folks,

 

where can I find detailed specs of my laptop 15q-BU008TX

 

the HP site does not give detailed RAM info

 

I want to know what is the max RAM I can install

 

current is 4gb DDR4 1233 Samsung I think

Can I Install Uneven RAM like 4+8

 

Can I install 2 SODIMMS of 8gb X 2 or 16gb X 2   ?

 

Suggestions on buying...

Thanks buddy!

 

did not want to get stuck with buying 2 8gb RAMS and ending up with white elephants.

Thing Ill put 2 8Gbs Crucial or Transcend.

 

worst thing is that the clips on one of the SODIMM sockets is bent and the Module put there does not work ARRRRGH!

Manual for the series (page 2) will tell you all:

For RAM, it supports 16GB (max 8GB + 8GB). Currently it has 4 GB DDR4-2133 SDRAM (1 x 4 GB), you can

 

(a) Add 4 GB to the second slot to have 8GB,

(b) Add 8GB to the second slot to have 12GB,

(c) Throw away 4GB and replace with 8GB + 8GB.

 

Page 54 shows you part number and how to add/replace RAM.
