HP ZBook 15 Mobile Workstation
Linux

Hi guys I need help with a Zbook15 workstation laptop. Its a good laptop for what I need and it has 8GB

of RAM. I see 2 slots empty for RAM in the back and I found 2 4GB sticks in a drawer. I installed the 2 sticks

of RAM however my bios and my OS does not detect the RAM upgrade. Any idea on what I can do to

get the system to recogize it ? Or do I nerd to buy a  specific  RAM which it says in bios Samsung 1366mhz.

Thanks.

What is/are the part number(s) of the RAM sticks you tried to make work?

The sticks I used are from another laptop and are different. I will look into just adding 4GB more then since money is a bit tight but I figure 12 gigs will help me a lot with what I want to do. I just need to upgrade my hard drive from 500GB

to a TB.

@banhien,

That is exactly what I was trying to ascertain, quote: "What is/are the part number(s) of the RAM sticks you tried to make work?"

I ordered just 1 4GB stick and I still have a 4th slot empty but I doubt I need more than 12

for what I wanna do. The i7 on this workstation is just enough juice for the setup I need running

multiple OS's on a virtualbox.
