Hp envy 17 n 107ur
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I have a Hp envy 17 n 107ur laptop. When i bought the laptop i came with 8gb ddr3 ram. Now my question is. On the motherboard it has two slots for ram. So i put another 8gb of ram stick. But it is not detecting it. I have seen other model with same series like envy 17 n100 n so on they have 16gb of ram but when i put another it is not detection. I mean it show 16 memory in cpu Z software but in system it shows only 8gb. And in cpuz software it says single channel. So please help me how can i upgrade it.

That RAM is DDR3 1600Mhz RAM

What you need is DDR3L 1600Mhz RAM. I would also not choose Kingston RAM as it has had some incompatibility issues with HP notebooks. Crucial, Samsung, Hynix.. are all good

Hope it helps,

David

Hi,

Your PC supports max 16GB of DDR3L 1600Mhz RAM (2x8GB)

The RAM you have placed is it DDR3L 1600Mhz RAM? not DDR3?  DDR3L has lower voltage than DDR3 RAM.

What brand is the RAM you have placed in the PC?

Let me know,

David
