can I upgrade my HP 15-bs100nj laptop ram it has 8gb ram I want to add another one like it same brand and model will it work is there a space for it, and I want to ask if I can put Intel optane on the laptop it already has SSD m2 in it

Hi,

Your PC will support max 32GB of DDR4 2400Mhz RAM (2x16GB) even if the service manual mentions 16GB.

There are two slots and at the moment you have one stick of 8GB and one empty slot. So you can add a 8GB stick or more. On page 50 of the service manual you can see the steps to upgrade RAM:

You can not use Optane memory as there is only one M2 slot and it is compatible only with M2 SATA3 SSDs

You could upgrade the 256GB SSD you have to a larger capacity M2 SATA3 drive such as the Samsung 860 evo.
