Your machine currently has 4 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (1 x 4 GB). It supports 16GB of RAM max. You can have following options to upgrade RAM

(a) To total 8GB: keep existing 4GB and add 4GB to slot 2,

(b) To total 12GB: keep existing 4GB and add 8GB to slot 2,

(c) To total 16GB: discard existing 4GB and install 8GB to both slots.

Back to your question: Yes, you can have option (b) above using following fully compatible RAM on slot 2

Hi@Parvez555,

Max RAM for your notebook is 16GB of DDR4 2400Mhz

There is only one slot. So you can either replace the 4GB module with a 8GB or 16GB module.

You can buy RAM from your preferred brand such as Crucial, Samsung...

Example:

https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/pavilion-14-ce0036tx#MEMORYFilters

On page 71 of the service manual you can see the steps to install the RAM:

Another upgrade you could consider is installing an M2 PCIe NVMe SSD in the notebook such as the M2 Samsung 970 Evo Plus of your desired capacity. This would greatly increase the everyday performance of the PC.

Hope it helps,

David
