Hey everyone,

I have recently purchased an HP 250 G10 with FreeDOS preinstalled. While I'd like to install Windows 11, it complains about missing drive, which seems will be resolved by providing the Rapid Storage Technology driver. However, I noticed that there is no storage driver available for the HP 250 G10 at the moment. The one I downloaded from Intel did not work, and neither did the one I downloaded from HP intended for the HP 250 G8. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Please download the latest version (v.19.5.2.1049) of IRST driver file (sp146929) from this link, extract files from it and copy them to a Windows installation usb drive. See the detailed steps below to complete the Windows installation:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp146501-147000/sp146929.exe

1. Connect your Windows installation usb drive to the laptop.

2. Right-click on the downloaded sp file and click on "Open with administrator" to start the extraction process.

3. When you are asked where to save files, with the default directory path being displayed, click on Next.

4. Go to C:\SWSetup and locate the sp146929 folder that holds extracted files. Double click the folder and copy the F6 folder to the root directory of the Windows installation usb drive.

5. Run the Windows installation from the usb drive, and when you are asked where to install Windows, click on Load Driver.

6. Click on Browse then click the usb drive in the window that opens.

7. Click on the F6 folder and click OK.

8. Two drivers will be displayed. Select either one then click OK.

9. Now the drive will be displayed with partitions (if the drive already has Windows installed). Delete all partitions to see "Drive 1 Unallocated space" then click Next to proceed the installation.

Thanks @Tk_srq! Though drivers weren't listed as compatible (and soon revealed that I was continuously reopening the Browse dialog by hitting the Enter key), it worked!

Your laptop comes with Intel Core 13th gen processor. The IRST driver you just used supports Intel 11th to 13th gen processors.

Glad to know you went through the installation process successfully.
