I am having exactly the same problem with a Pavilion I7 bought in 2019. Incredible timing for breaking down, I guess it must have been verified. Obviously the warranty has expired, and phone support denies any claim. There is no justification for an evident design flaw of the product(s), as one can see from the number of posts lamenting the same problem in every part of the world - i'm writing from Italy. HP must (should) assume responsability for the problem. Anyone there?

Hp is repairing the laptop, for free. Tomorrow the pc will be brought away for the work. Well, what to say? Chapeau to the firm, that recognizes brilliantly the inherent vice! And thanks to Jay who arranged all this
