So my wife has a new Envy x360 13-ag0004ng (German Version) and charging via USB-C is not working at all. I have updated all drivers and BIOS and the latest BIOS changelog (F.20) even says that a fix in the Power Delivery feature was applied.
Also the product specifications on the German and the English site differ:
In the English specs:
1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 2 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s, Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge); 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (1 HP Sleep and Charge); 1 HDMI 2.0; 1 headphone/microphone combo
In the German specs:
1 USB Type-C™ 3.1 Gen 1 (Datenübertragung bis zu 5 Gbit/s, Stromversorgung, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge)
I'm really disappointed as it is not clear at all why it doesn't work and it totally ruins the expected user experience.
I would be really glad about any help. Thanks!

Hello @frsc,
I'll look into it.
Is the computer the HP ENVY x360 - 13-ag0005ng? That's what's listed for the German page. But the problem is that that product name doesn't bring up any results in HP Search tools.
Kind regards,
Eddy

Thanks. Actually "Stromversorgung" ist the German translation of "Power Delivery". So when I bought the Notebook I looked at the specs and got the intention that charging will work.
It ist definitely the 13-ag0004ng and I can't see why there would be different versions of the same product with the same number.

Ok, so it is the HP ENVY x360 - 13-ag0004ng... Seems like the HP German site made a typo.
By the way, what USB-C charger are you using?
Are you perhaps using a mobile device charger such as a Samsung Galaxy S9 or Google Pixel 3 charger? Because that wouldn't work.
Regards,
Eddy

It's this one: https://i-tec.cz/en/produkt/c31metal4kdockpd-2/
My wife already went to the store where the notebook was bought and tried the very same dock with a different HP ultrabook (not sure which one) and charging was working fine.

I just saw that I probably provided a wrong link in my first post, or HP has changed something. The link to the German site was pointing to the specs of the 13-ag0005ng. I fixed the link to point to the 13-ag0004ng now.
Though it doesn't really matter. There are still two different specs online for the exact same notebook: HP ENVY x360 13-ag0004ng (4JS63EA) .

Hello @frsc,
Since this involves a third-party hub, unfortunately, the only thing I can suggest is referring to the store where your wife bought it from and ensuring that the hub is not defective and to see if the store is willing to allow you to test out some other hubs or USB-C chargers and verifying that the laptop can actually charge.
Since specifications clearly outline USB Power Delivery, my suspicion is in the accessory, but we'll wait and see.
Let us know.
Best regards,
Eddy

Actually my wife already went to the store and explained the problem. Unfortunately she also had to explain, that Power Delivery even exists and that charging via USB-C is possible in general as some of the employes hadn't even heard of it.
They tried the dock on a different HP notebook and charging worked. Unfortunately they didn't try the notebook with different USB-C chargers, as one of the employes they called in as an "expert" told my wife, that all notebooks that have a separate charging connector don't support charging via USB. Trying this would be like connecting the charger to your headphone connector.
So much for the expertise in this notebook store...
I hope we can figure this out somehow. Meanwhile it would still be appropriate if someone at HP could make an official statement about this. Is there no departement where someone could do a quick test with an Envy 13-ag0004ng and a HP USB-C charger?
