I have the same need to replace my hard drive but my laptop is slightly different. It is a hp Pavillion 15 notebook. Product ID G6R09UA#ABA. Do you have a link to a service manual for this machine? I will probably go solid state and more ram.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Update:  I just wanted to say that your recommendations have worked beautifully for me.  If my system gets sluggish at all now; it is because of 100% CPU usage rather than 100% Disk usage.  In fact, I rarely see Disk usage above 30% and its usually around 1%.  Windows 10 runs more smoothly even on this processor than on family members more expensive and newer systems.   Thanks again Paul!!!!
