Hi All,

i also had the same issue on my HP Pavilion Dv6-3150us Entertainment Notebook PC .

You can try all softwares , but you will mess everything.

1) Had you repaired ( Opened ) your laptop before ??

because when you opened you did not applied thermal paste correctly also you did not removed dust from heat pipe(where air exits) .

2) you can use HWiNFO64 software to boost fan speed to max.(to avoid overheating)

3) your power supply should meet the requirements.

But, afterall believe me you have dust in your fan. I also tried hell lot of things.

But cleaning my pc worked .just clean the heat pipe and the (the iron grill part) and reapply thermal paste correctly.

MY EXPERIENCE -- on my that 10 year old laptop

BEFORE-

very slow performance

CPU Temp (normal usage) --105°C This made thermal throttling to my cpu.

anytime shutdown

AFTER CLEANING-

Full CPU with highest clock with turbo boost

low battery drain (Using higher watt charger)

Maximum performance , maximum benchmark,

Fan noise 50%

CPU temp normal usage -- 60°C

CPU temp at higgest clock (intel turbo boost) --95°C

Please note-- If you had never opened any laptop.DON'T DO IT YOURSELF. take it to nearby shop and get it done there (see are they doing it properly.) Thermal paste would cost 2$ at max

Thanks.

Hi Ankit,

Thanks for your reply, but if you see my post this Laptop is purchased very recently from HP online store on 23-Apr-2019 and i received it at home on 25-Apr-2019.

So, There is no question of Dust in the Fan vents as this is a brand new Laptop. Atleast i would hope for that from HP.

I updated the BIOS for this Laptop, HP Pavillion x360 14 cd0081tu to the recommended version of F.32 (19mb file). Tried a lot of other options on HP assistant, Downloaded latest patch set for drivers and updates from HP website, Tuned the battery for performance balance and done Adaptor and Battery checks (These were failing initially, But after BIOS update, Were successful).

My problem is resolved now!

Regards,

Veerendra

Hello, Veerendra.

Just to confirm: could you solve your fan noise problem? Can you give more details about the measures you took?

@HP support

I also just got today my new HP spectre x360 model 15-df0009TX and, even though I had some loud fan laptops before, this is the first time I got annoyed to the extent of looking for a solution on the internet.

As an expensive laptop that was bought with my supervisor's research budget it is really disapointing to have this type issue.
