Model number: HP Pavilion x360 - 14-cd0087tu
The last bios version is of June. When I try to update to the latest version(September), it says that the update isn't compatible with my device. Screenshot is attached.
No, It does not freeze or lockup or shut down. It's a brand new laptop, I bought it 5 days ago and haven't installed anything yet. Bios update problem

Thank you for replying,
As I understand you seem to have an issue with updating the Bios on your new PC. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.
Let's start off by updating the Windows:
1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.
2) Check for updates.
3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.
Next thing, I would suggest here is to do a Bios defaults:
- Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
- Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
- On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
- Press F10 to Save and Exit.
- Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
- Follow the prompts to restart your computer.
Next thing, I would suggest here is to update the Bios, directly from our HP support website, using this link.
For more details, please go through this link: HP Notebook PCs - Updating the BIOS (Basic Input Output System)
I've looked around and found this direct download file to update the BIOS: Click here (Please select the correct Operating system and version of Windows before downloading the latest Bios update for your PC)
However, I must let you know that the BIOS update isn't normally installed unless you have any specific issues with the device, hence, I wanted to know if you have any issues as such that needs an update?
If you're having issues updating directly through the website, try to update using HP Support Assistant.
Also, have you attempted to uninstall the HPSA and then install a new version from the HP Website?
If not, here's the website to download the new/latest version of HPSA: Click here
If the issue persists, I would suggest here is to follow the steps suggested in the support document for - HP Notebook PCs - Fan is Noisy and Spins Constantly, PC is Warmer than Normal
Let me know how that pans out

Thank you for replying,
I understand the fan on your laptop is noisy. Don't worry I'll do my best to help you
Try restoring the BIOS to default.
1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer.
Try updating the BIOS and thermal framework drivers on your PC.
You can update the drivers using the HP support assistant.
Refer this article to know more information about using HP support assistant. Click Here
To properly ventilate the computer, allow at least 7.6 cm (3 in) of clearance on the left side
of the computer. The computer uses an electric fan for ventilation. The fan is controlled by a temperature
sensor and is designed to turn on automatically when high-temperature conditions exist. These conditions
are affected by high external temperatures, system power consumption, power management/battery
conservation configurations, battery fast charging, and software requirements. Exhaust air is displaced
through the ventilation grill located on the left side of the computer.
Alternatively, you can try few steps recommended below.
1) open task manager
2) go to "Performance" tab
3) click "Open Resource Monitor" at the bottom of the window
4) click the "CPU" column to sort by most usage first and see which processes are eating up CPU time
5. right click and end the process.
Lastly, try running a system diagnostics test on your PC and check if the hardware components on your PC are functioning correctly.

Hi Jeet,
I have the same issue on a brand new Chromebook X360. Can you advise who I can contact for tech support/replacement in Ireland? I can't bring it back to Bestbuy in the USA?
Please advise asap.
Thanks,
Robert

Hi Jeet,
I too have bought HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14-cd0081tu sround 2 days back. I have updated the BIOS to the latest version of F.32 (File of size around 19mb). Still i am getting Loud fan noise and the Laptop portion in the bottom and fan is getting heated up.
I do not have the problem yet of Laptop getting shut down or any other abnormal behavior, apart from the noise and heat issue.
Can you kindly advise. Thanks!
