That is normal.

You will just have to learn the limits of the working distance from the touchscreen where it is and is not an issue for you.

It is different with everyone.

You will have to practice to become used to taking notes and drawing with the stylus.

Hi there,

thanks for the reply,

I'm not convinced this is something "normal" especially considering the technology in these things (and the price of the laptops), I understand the digitiser may detect the pen before it has touched the screen so that it knows where it is, that is normal...but that does not mean it should be writing 3-4 mm above the screen

If the pen is sending information for the pressure on the nib then surely if I'm not touching the screen, no pressure = laptop knows there's no contact = it shouldn't be writing surely? I've read many forums were people have had the same issue on different setups and more often than not the issue was the pen nib being damaged , dirty and so on.

If this is an unsolvable issue then the whole premise of these laptops even having pens is useless, to have even close to good notes I would have to perfectly vertically place the pen down before writing and the same for lifting it, or else the squiggles are released like some 3 year old decided to join in.

Thanks

Owen

Even my mobile phone, a Samsung Note2 has a stylus.

Since I am accustomed to using the stylus on my S¨pectre 13 notebook, I have no problem using the Note mobi´le phone for notes, shopping lists and whatever I want to quickly write down.

I am sorry to hear that the tech isn't working for you.
