Had a problem with bit-locker on laptop. Account on MS long ago deleted, so bit-locker recovery out. Couldn't do anything on laptop to try to fix this, so pulled the m.2 drive, put it into a desktop, and wiped it. Went to re-install Windows 11 on the drive after putting it back into the laptop, but installer didn't see a drive. Put drive back on desktop and it saw the drive fine. Did "new" when starting the Win 11 install for the drive to setup partitions, but imagine there will be problems putting OS back finding desktop resources, rather than those on the laptop, when installing
. I also noticed, when trying to install the OS on the laptop, the mouse wasn't working. I figured it was probably drivers, so went to HP support site, tried both model and serial number and HP comes back with "We're sorry -- We can't seem to find the page you were looking for" for drivers. Looked on the forums here, but could only find reference to web sites on the other side of the world being out many months ago. I'm in the US. Any ideas how to get the drivers for this laptop from 2021, model 14-dq4035cl?

I wouldn't be able to help you with the mouse issue because that shouldn't be happening.
The only suggestion I can offer would be to use a USB mouse until you get Windows 11 installed and perhaps either the mouse will be working or you can install the touchpad drivers from the model series' support page.
I can help you with the 'Windows can't find any drives' issue.
All PCs having Intel 11th > 13th gen core processors need to have the Intel storage controller driver installed when you are at that step in the installation process.
I have zipped up and attached the Intel storage controller drivers you need, below.
Unzip and copy all of the files in the folder in the attachment to a USB flash drive.
Have the flash drive and your Windows installation media plugged into USB ports.
Boot from the Windows installation flash drive.
When you get to the screen where no drives can be found, click on the Load driver option, browse to the flash drive with the storage controller drivers on it.
If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.
If Windows still can't find the drive, uncheck the box to include the compatible driver and try any of the ones listed.
After W11 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from the base model HP 14 inch Laptop PC 14-d4000's support page.

Thanks for the info, however, the F6.zip file you've made available has a status of something like "checking for viruses" and never finishes 😞
Is there anywhere else that I can find these Intel drivers? I tried looking at Intel's support site, but it only gave me an option to run an installer, which I can't do as this machine is down (note: tried to run this on another machine but it gave me an error about not being able to run on this platform).
I also appreciate the info on the HP driver site -- it works, but weird that it doesn't have the Intel storage driver there . . .

Thank you!!! This was it. I gave it the Intel drivers and it worked. So weird MS doesn't include this or HP doesn't have this for the model of laptop I have . . . Also, I downloaded the SetupRST.exe from Intel for the gen 10&11 processors that includes the storage drivers. At first, could not get the extraction of the driver to work from from this file at the command prompt -- not sure why: ./SetupRST.exe -extractdrivers SetupRST_extracted
After everything, I went back and found out I needed to be in a powershell terminal window. It worked, but created a bunch of directories, which would have taken me a bit of hit-or-miss to find the correct drivers, and who knows what else!
Thanks again -- you saved me a lot of trouble and time 🙂
