I've seen several posts with this problem, but the file links are broken. I'm having the problem with the Realtek PCI card reader. I tried installing it on Windows 10 and Windows 10 to see if it would resolve the issue, but it gives the same error: "The driver for this device has blocked starting because it is known to have problems with Windows. Contact the hardware manufacturer for a new driver. (Code 48)
I've downloaded the latest versions, but it doesn't resolve the issue and the card reader don't work.
Does anyone know how to resolve this?
thanks in advance.

Please post the hardware ID for the Realtek card reader.
Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device:
How to Find Drivers for Unknown Devices in the Device Manager
There are several different hardware versions of the card reader, so the trick is to find a W10 driver that has driver support for the hardware ID of your notebook's SD card reader.

As I tested with Windows 11 to see if it was resolved, it is now working in Windows 11 and I would say that it is working acceptably, I would say even very well, if there were a way to make it work in Windows 11 it would be ideal.
This is the Hardware ID:
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&SUBSYS_1669103C&REV_01
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&SUBSYS_1669103C
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&CC_FF0000
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&CC_FF00
I tried the last two from the Realtek page for Windows 10 64 bits and it still doesn't work showing the same error
Will it be possible to find a working driver? It seems that the reader is something very standard and simple, right?

See if this driver works:
I downloaded the file and used the free 7-zip file utility to unzip the file.
In the DrvBin64 folder there are W10 drivers for the hardware ID you posted, the driver version and date being 10.0.16299.28163 10/26/2017.
You can either try manually updating the driver from the Realtek card reader device itself after you unzip the file, or you can run the setup application inside the unzipped driver folder to automatically install the driver.
The W10 drivers should work on W11 too.

Sorry.
I wonder how that happened?
I guess I had to click on the link one more time.
See if you can download the file now...
