Realtek PCIe Card Reader (Built-in) My Realtek PCIe Card Reader (Built-in) has stopped working. I can see the device in device manager. I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver that I downloaded from the official HP support site. It didn't work. I tried 4 different microSD XC cards, but the problem still exists. All 4 cards can be read by an external USB adapter.

It's probably a hardware issue--the read head went bad.
I had the same thing happen to me on an old HP nc6400 notebook.
In the device manager it reported working properly.
Tried everything...drivers, reinstall OS, nothing worked.
