I have a non-working Notebook, HP G62-340US Notebook PC - Product number:XH066UA
I received an error message that the Hard drive had failed. (this is the second hard drive failure, the first was within warranty) There is a fundamental issue with my notebook and /or hard drive(s) This is the replacement part number 599054-001.
I have chatted with the parts department, they said they did not have
my part and told me to contact he commercial warranty department.
They transferred me to the consumer warranty department and they
transferred me to the "Out of warranty" Department. They all confirmed
that the part is no longer available. I also checked HP's four parts suppliers. They couldn't help me either.
I bought my laptop in the State of California, USA around 2012. I made the agents aware of the
Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act. It states that manufacturers of
electronic goods that sell for more than $100 have to provide spare
parts for up to seven years, regardless of warranty status. As of yet I have no resolution.
David- Supervisor referred me to Corporate Headquarters 1-650-857-1501.
And help you can provide would be greatly appreciated .
