I have a failing Original HD in my laptop. Want to upgrade to SSD. Looking for SSD equipment recommendations (500 GB) along with cloning software. Additional question, I upgraded RAM to 8Mb a few years ago to run Win10, do I need to change / upgrade RAM for SSD?

Hi:
I recommend the WD Blue SA510 2.5" SSD.
WD Blue SA510 500GB Internal SSD SATA WDBB8H5000ANC-WRSN - Best Buy
For cloning software, I recommend the trial version of Macrium Reflect.
Bottom left corner of the webpage.
I believe you can use it for 30 days.
You will also need to purchase a SATA to USB cable to connect the new drive to so you can clone it.
Something like this...
The amount of memory you have installed is maxed out and there is no need to do anything with the memory with regard to the installation of a SSD.
