I just replaced my battery for my laptop and had issues with the keyboard and cursor. I found out hadn't connected the keyboard back correctly but I still don't have a cursor. I got a wireless mouse the I tested and it worked on another laptop but not the one I just changed the battery on. I've tried all the unlocking the touchpad trouble shooting I found. I am hoping someone might know what the issue is. The touchpad clicks when I press on it as normal I just don't have a cursor.

I suggest to verify that everything is connected inside.
Was the wireless mouse bluetooth or 2.4 Ghz?
Did you try plugging the mouse's usb dongle in each of the available USB ports?
Have you checked the batteries in the mouse?

What is the installed operating system?
" it was wireless, I tried all the ports ot worked in another laptop fine"
What does that mean?
Wireless can be either Bluetooth or WIFI. Which one is it?
Do you have a wired mouse to plug into the USB ports to see if the cursor is present?
If not, do you have a friend or relative who is willing to let you try theirs to test your laptop's ports?
Have you used the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI utility to test the USB ports?
Power on and immediately tap the F2 key to invoke the Diagnostics.
Go to Component tests and then click on USB ports and run the test.
What are the results of the USB port test?

The mouse is not a wired one that needs one AA battery and as a USB piece to put into the laptop. I tried it in another laptop and it worked fine, just not this one. Windows 10 I believe. I did run a quick diagnostics through Bios. I have no problem running it again.

The mouse says 2.4 Wireless technology, no pairing required Plug and Play via 2.4Ghz USB receiver. I hope that awnsers the mouse question. I tried it on another laptop and it worked fine. As far as I can tell everything is hooked in.

"The mouse is not a wired one that needs one AA battery and as a USB piece to put into the laptop. "
A wired mouse does not need a battery. All it needs is it's own cable and USB plug to plug into a laptop's USB port.
Why was it so difficult to tell me what kind of mouse?
Have you plugged a USB flash drive into all of your USB ports and heard the connecting sound?
Does the USB flash drive show up in Windows Explorer?
I am asking these questions because some of the answers and statements you have made lead me to believe that the problem is likely a USB ports connection one.
You are also likely to have disturbed a connection inside of the laptop when you replaced the battery.
What exact tests did you run? Be very specific this time.
Are you able to use the WIFI to connect to your internet router?
Are you using Windows 10 or Windows 11 as the operating system?
