My battery died so I purchased a new one. I removed the old battery, did a hard reset, and installed the new one. After powering up, I get a screen that says the capacity of the battery has been reduced (error 601). After I hit return, I get another screen that says Non-HP battery detected, etc. If I hit return, go into Diagnostics, and try to calibrate the battery, I get a message that a battery is not installed.
I have tried 4 different batteries, including HP brand and the results are always the same. I feel like I'm in a catch-22 with the software.
Also, if I continue into Windows, I can unplug my adapter and the computer remains on. If I plug my adapter in, I get the orange led for a while and then it switches over to flashing white. If I try to power on with just the battery and no adapter, I get quick white led flashes and no power up.
Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks.
