My HP 15-bs058ca laptop calls for a battery #919700-850, it seems there may be 2 compatible batteries according to the HP forum, a 10.95V and a 14.6V , they say I can use either but I don't understand how that is possible when they are of different voltages. Would the higher voltage not burn out the laptop? This is what I read,
These are the two batteries which would be compatible:
(24) Battery 4-cell, 41-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion battery 919701-850 3-cell, 31-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion battery 919700-850
According to specs your laptop came with the 3-cell. If you replace it with a 4-cell logically you would go from 31 wh to 41 wh with a corresponding increase in runtime (about 32%).
Thanks for you help

The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05666799
It uses 3-cell, 31 Wh Li-ion battery part # 919700-850. Your machine is NOT on the list of the 4-cell, 41-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion battery part # 919701-850

We can use 10.95V +/- 10% but 14.4V is too high.
Regards.
