Actually you have to use the Heat Sink compound  (Fan/heat sink assembly (includes replacement thermal material)): part #  L04006-001 which is available on the part store link above .

Regards.

Hi, @Run71

The part is on back order from the Hp store.

I found one from this PC parts supplier...

L04006-001 - Hewlett-packard (HP) - THERMAL MODULE L-R | Impact Computers

Maybe you can find the same fan as this person bought for a very similar model (15-Aq292cl).

Most of these fans can be easily taken apart, blade washed and bearings oiled for another 3-4 years use. I need to do a video on how to do that. Doesn't help a completely burnt out fan, but if it's starting to make noise the life can be extended indefinitely.

The part L04006-001 is on backorder on the HP Parts Store. I'll try if they can provide any ETA.

Thank You @Paul_Tikkanen! I appreciate your prompt response.

I'll try to get it from the HP Parts Store (currently on backorder). If not, will try the parts supplier you suggested.

You're welcome! Here's a quick video on how easy most of the fans can be brought back to life- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqGLa4-7meY  I had to do it for my wife's Envy 27 when I couldn't find a replacement fan.
