Actually you have to use the Heat Sink compound (Fan/heat sink assembly (includes replacement thermal material)): part # L04006-001 which is available on the part store link above .

The part is on back order from the Hp store.
I found one from this PC parts supplier...
L04006-001 - Hewlett-packard (HP) - THERMAL MODULE L-R | Impact Computers
Maybe you can find the same fan as this person bought for a very similar model (15-Aq292cl).
$17.65 for the fan.

Most of these fans can be easily taken apart, blade washed and bearings oiled for another 3-4 years use. I need to do a video on how to do that. Doesn't help a completely burnt out fan, but if it's starting to make noise the life can be extended indefinitely.
