I've just managed to break the head of my HP Envy 14 Spectre (14-3011tu) power adapter cable. The power adapter is one of those HP travel adapters (65W - 574487-001) with interchangable heads. I called HP Australia and various HP suppliers to see if I can get a replacement interchangable heads or even a whole replacement adapter however no one has them in stock (well they have the base power pack but not the correct head and no one know when they'll get extra stock).
Do anyone know if there is a similar HP laptop that uses the same long 4.7mm adapter head as the HP Envy 14 Spectre (14-3011tu) ? I'd like to buy one so that I can hack together a new interchangable head cable whilst I wait for new OEM stock to come in.
PS. I've already ordered a few of the aftermarket adapters off eBay that clam to fit the Envy 14 Spectre however they are a few micronos too thick to fit in the socket. Image below just in case you're having the same headaches as me.

This is a hard part to find for some reason. I have confirmed personally with customers that this part number is the correct replacement for the DC cable that connects the power brick to the notebook.
Click here to go to the HP Parts Store. At the top you'll see the Americas tab highlighted. Click on the Asia Pacific tab and choose Australia below. On the next page, in the Search by part number box, type in 687530-001 and press Enter. Then you can order it online or call the HP Parts Store at the number listed.
Really hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions! :)
Anyone else looking for a Spectre 14-3xxx replacement DC cable can use this part number as well. Just choose the appropriate country on the HP Parts Store link and post any questions you have.

Asking me to contact the resellers, which no luck, all resellers are not selling me just this DC cable , but the whole adapter kit. And I am not sure if this power adapter 674638-001 contain this cable 687530-001 to connect to my laptop. Because this is a crucial part that broke, If anyone here can help me check, i will then just purchase the whole adapter. Ouch.
Would it be better if I pay a visit to HP Total Care centre , will they be able to help me verified the right part to buy and place order?

@xbel I'm sorry you're running into this issue getting the part. Which part of the adapter has broken? The DC cable (from the wall to the power brick, not including the power brick) or the AC Adapter (computer to the power brick, including the power brick)?
I'm having trouble bringing up those part numbers. What is the product number of your computer so I can verify the UK part number for the part you need?

The tip that going into the laptop is broken, nothing to do with the adapter brick itself, not affecting the plug point US/UK/etc. exactly the same problem mentioned, only that no solution, as no one able to supply the part number provided for the DC Cable at the 1st reply to this thread.
Yes I understand the DC Cable NOT INCLUDING THE ADAPTER, and that is what I want but no one able to sell or supply in UK. I have emailed and called all listed reseller on HP Parts website and HP themselves don't sell it (?!?!?!) it is stated as ,
"parts not orderable at Parts store please contact our resellers"
However two Resellers said they only sell the whole set of adapter, cost at £107, ouch!

I supposed I don't have to throw away my £1000ish laptop because I broke a tip of the power adapter? :'(
So helpless, with a powerless laptop. Last resort am going to the HP Total Care centre this Thursday and see if they send me to elsewhere (again). So far, I have been pushed here and there, everyone saying they don't do this they don't sell this, and put on hold by the HP customer service line for 20 minutes, also passing me from one dept to another, those calls are expensive 'special number' for thos in UK u know, 0845-XXXXX number :((((

I have an HP Envy Spectre 14 notebook and I snapped the connector that goes into the power socket of the notebook, the travel adpater part number is 574487-001 and after reading various posts the cable which connects the adapter to the computer has been suggested as 687530-001 but I have no way of verifying this. I spent 30 minutes trying to get through to HP for the agent to not have clue what I was going on about and I am absolutely desperate to get this resolved as I have stuff on the laptop that I need for my work.
So please please please can somebody tell me, what is the exact part number of the cable that connects to the computer and adapter and where I can purchase this in the UK, even if I have to buy the whole unit.
Thanks in advance

I'm sorry for the delayed response. The correct part number is 687530-001. The only part of the whole adapter (from computer to wall) is the AC end that plugs into the wall outlet. Of course, that part is different for different countries, but the DC end (that plugs into the computer), is the same no matter what country you purchased the computer in.
EMPR Australia has it here -- It looks like they only ship within Australia though.
If you might happen to have a friend in either the U.S. or Australia, you may be able to lessen that shipping cost by having it shipped to your friend and your friend shipping it to you? Just a thought. That may be more trouble than you're looking to go to. That's the right part number, though, so you're good there. It's just a matter of paying for the shipping now.
I hope this helps! If you decide to order it, please post the results when you get a chance :)
