Replacement SATA HDD flex cable
08-08-2017 12:29 PM

So my HP Pavilion x360 m3-u001dx started saying there was no HDD installed when powered on. I removed the HDD and put it into an external enclosure and it works flawlessly in my desktop. I inspected the motherboard and found corrosion where the HDD flex cable plugs onto the motherboard. I already cleaned it all out but I am having a hard time finding a new flex cable because 2 of the copper strands are broken, presumably the corrosion ruined the cable. Any idea where I can get a replacement SATA sable? I cant find an exact match and there is no part number on this one. Thanks.

Hi,
The part number for the cable you are looking for is 856011–001
If you perform online search with part number you should be able to find it.
Example:

Hope it helps,
David
