Hi,
I am using an HP Notebook product number P1A99UA#ABL.
I am experiencing issues with my laptop abrubtly shutting down while there is still a charge on the battery, so i have decided to replace the battery.
On the back of my battery it says to replace with HP part 807956-001.
My current battery is 3 cell and 10.95V.
The batteries i have found under that part number are all 4 cell 14.6V 2200mAh / 32Wh.
(This is the part number my battery says to replace itself with, even though it is different).
Can i upgrade my current battery from 10.95V to 14.6V or is that unsafe?

Hello @Babemagnet,
Very expensive but it's most recommended that replacement parts are original: https://parts.hp.com/hpparts/Search_Results.aspx?mscssid=4CEA93C6CE964DD8B8CF8BB3434145FE&SearchIn=P...
Just make sure to change your country location in the top right-hand corner.
Kind regards,
Eddy

I don’t think I’m really up for spending that much on a 4 year old laptop.
i did find one 3 cell 10.95V replacement with the same volatage for less money, under the same part number.
But if I’m able to put the 14.6V in and get longer battery life out of it I’d rather do that.
is it compatible? Both the 10.95V and 14.6V are under the same part number.

Hi,
You can use the 14,6 V battery
These are the two compatible batteries for your notebook:

That dope who told you the batteries are the same (an HS03 and an HS04) is full of it! I was TOLD ON THE TELEPHONE by a HP CS Engineer that the 14V LiON CANNOT be used in an earlier HP notebook designed for the 10.97V HS03 (3 Cell). That dope saw both batteries listed and misguidedly interpreted it as being the same and it's that, that model HP was initially made for the HS03 3-Cell and them later made differently internally for the HS04 4-cell.
I've found using this HP Forum that they allow anybody with NO credentials to act like their experts and are NOT. Your best solution is to call HP in Palo Alto CA or write them for CORRECT answers!
