I have lost my power cord. So now I have a very expensive paperweight. I am trying to find out the cheapest way to replace the power cord. But I’m not sure what cord I need and if buying a non hp product will do any harm. Any knowledge and suggestions are greatly appreciated .
thank you in advance

Buying a non HP power adapter won't hurt a thing. The genuine items are not that expensive either. The OEM part number is 45-W non-PFC, non-slim HP Smart AC adapter (for use in all countries and regions except for the People’s Republic of China and India) HP p/n 741727-001
There is a search I did for sources in link at the line below this one.

Hi:
Below is the link to the parts list for your notebook.

The power adapter you need is the first item listed.
741727-001
I would not recommend buying an aftermarket adapter.
I went on eBay and did a search by the HP part number. Sorted by price and shipping, lowest first.
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=741727-001&_sacat=0&_sop=15
I see a genuine HP power adapter in used but tested and working condition with the cord listed for $20.99.
That will be a whole lot cheaper than buying new from HP.
Plus you have to buy the cord that goes from the wall socket to the adapter separately, and that listing shows the whole shebang.
