Hello -
I have a 3 yr old HP Envy touch screen laptop which I have really enjoyed except for one major issue - the hinges and case are not well designed for durability.
The hinges and screen where replaced under warranty by HP near the end of the first year after a hing broke and buckled the case and cracked the screen..
After about another year and half, one of the hinges busted out of the case again. Since we are on covid lock down times, I could use it as a desktop, without opening and closing, leaving the lap top open, and disabling the touch screen. I was hoping the lack of mobility would protect the screen from cracking. But no luck - the screen cracked again.
I was investigating to see the cost of repair to get another year of use. The nearest HP Service center says they are not able to source a part for replacement of the screen.
Is there a way to confirm that this is the case with HP? There is no longer a part available to replace the screen for an HP ENVY Notebook m7-u109dx? I am guessing the official HP service center needs to get parts directly from HP?
Thanks,
Gabriel
