HP Notebook - 15-ac141na (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an old HP 15 ac141na laptop and was going to upgrade it to a SSD drive but a lot of the keys have to be struck really hard to register a keystroke so it would seem that I would need to replace the keyboard too.

However, I have looked on YouTube but can't find a video on how to do this for my particular model though I'm getting the horrible feeling that it's going to involve a chisel, a soldering iron and hot plastic, presuming I can ever find out how to get anywhere near the keyboard in the first place.

Anyone know where I can find this information, preferably as a easy to follow video?

Also, crucial.com seemed to think that it could take a second 8Gb of RAM but I couldn't see anywhere to put it, so are they mistaken?

Thanks in advance.

Laptop keys can be replaced. Some models are more difficult than others. Usually it is easier to replace a key or two than the keyboard.

To replace your keyboard, go to this site and enter your serial number. Look for the keyboard with the correct language.

There are a number of companies that can provide keys but I suspect the problem is the keyboard.

I have since been learned about the usefulness of ChatGTP and it tells me that you have to replace the entire top of the laptop and the eBay link it provided suggests that this would cost around £190.

The photos on eBay, showing the underside of the keyboard without the motherboard etc in the way, certainly looks like mine and certainly gives me the impression that the keyboard is not meant to be replaceable.

It did confirm that the problem could be debris under the affected keys and removing them to clean underneath may solve the issue, so I'll probably try that.

Thanks for the replies anyway.
