Hi!
I need to replace my old wifi card with a new module. The old one only has wifi capabilities while the new has wifi+bluetooth. The old one is a RALINK RT5390 model. How do I know that the new one will be compatible to my laptop? Is it sufficient to know that it is a mini PCI? or is it going to be a trial and error?
This blog doesn't specificy which part it supports https://support.hp.com/ph-en/document/c03294486.
Please help.
Thank you

Hi:
You can upgrade to this model in your notebook...
Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0 HP Part #710661-001
The card should be readily available on Amazon or eBay.
Do your search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.
Before installing the new card, uninstall the ralink wifi card in the device manager, check the uninstall driver box, and do the same for the Ralink bluetooth.
If there is Ralink bluetooth software in the Windows control panel>programs, uninstall that too.
Then install the Intel wifi card.

You're very welcome.
That is what it looks like, but I don't see the HP part number on it...you should try and get one with the specific HP part number...
