Reset BIOS Administrator Password on HP ProBook 640 G5

I'd like to reset the BIOS Administrator Password on my HP ProBook G5, or find

some other way to make the BIOS boot a linux kernel that I've compiled.

I've installed Debian, with kernel 6.12.94+deb13-amd64, on the machine. The
machine has no qualms about booting this kernel. I've tried compiling and
booting kernels 6.12.99 and 7.1.5 . In both cases, I start with the .config
from Debian's 6.12.94 kernel, run 'make oldconfig', and compile and install
the kernel. The BIOS refuses to boot any kernel that I've compiled, with
the machine's BIOS giving the error "Bad shim signature".

So, apparently, Debian has compiled an acceptable shim signature into their
kernel. WHERE DID THEY GET THIS SHIM SIGNATURE? HOW CAN I GET AN ACCEPTABLE
SIGNATURE AND COMPILE IT INTO MY KERNEL?

How can I make the machine boot a kernel that I've compiled?

I understand that I might be able to boot my kernel by going into the
BIOS setup and turning off "Secure boot". The machine will not let me
into the BIOS setup without an "Administrator Password". I've never
seen this password; perhaps the previous owner of the machine set it.
(It is impossible to find who that person is.)

If it's necessary for me to disassemble the machine and short a jumper
or remove a battery, please tell me where the jumpers or batteries are.

I've tried the following Administrator Passwords, that I found on
various web pages:

After every three passwords, I was forced to power-cycle the machine.

I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions upon how to reset the BIOS

Administrator Password.
