I have a hp spectre 360 13” and motherboard fried.  I need to retrieve data from 512 ssd.  How do I do this?

If the '512 SSD' you are referring to is an M.2 SSD, you need to use a USB to M.2 SSD enclosure adapter like this.

Place the M.2 SSD in the enclosure, connect it to another PC via a USB port and open File Explorer to look for files you want to save.

 

This doesn't guarantee a retrieval of files, but if the SSD drive is physically sound and its file structure is intact, you most likely can.

 

If you are not sure of how to remove the SSD from the notebook, provide the exact model number or product number of the notebook for an SSD removal procedure.

 

If the 512 SSD is a 2.5"SATA SSD, you need a different type of an adapter.
