Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi. I've searched for answers but none have worked so far.

I would DESPERATELY like to NOT have to use the Fn key to invoke F1-F12. It's annoying in my workflow doing multimedia production.

Also, I can't find where to switch backlight to stay ON for the keyboard.

I looked in the BIOS but did not see as described for either issue. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thank you!!

Hi @Batelboy

See page 37 of the BIOS manual , to disable the fn key. And page 42 to always activate the keyboard, This last function is not present in all BIOS.

I believe I have found the setting to resolve the issue stated below. It is in the BIOS --> Advanced tab.

"I would DESPERATELY like to NOT have to use the Fn key to invoke F1-F12. It's annoying in my workflow doing multimedia production."

click in the box and then save and exit the BIOSclick in the box and then save and exit the BIOS

" I can't find where to switch backlight to stay ON for the keyboard."

Unfortunately there is no solution for the keyboard backlighting remaining on

Unfortunately, it about ten years have passed since HP removed that as an option for laptops with backlit keyboards.

All HP laptops that have backlighting have only a certain length of time before tapping a key to turn the backlighting on is required.
