Hello,
I have an issue with a hp laptop. In the right corner where it is the hinge when i try to open the display it is appearing a crack between the bottom panel and the top panel. Also from the laptop it's dropped down broken plastic parts (parts of the nut holders) and a nut. The screw in that area can not be taken in place. The laptop has not been used in an intensive way. Also It has not never been dropped down(or hit). I read that this is a design defect with the plastic elements? Please, can you provide some help. Thank you.
Greetings all.

A 15-jxxx series laptop is from about 6 years ago. There is not going to be any free help. Yes we see a lot of reports of hinge issues. What has happened is that your hinge has seized up and has placed extra torque on the mounting points which has gradually torn them apart. The only fix is to replace plastic chassis pieces like the base assembly and screen housing and the hinges themselves. It is an extensive repair and if the laptop were newer I would say it is an expensive repair. However, for a laptop of that age you can find parts for fairly reasonable prices. Post back if you want to figure out how to fix this but bear in mind it will be a major project.

The laptop is bought in the end of 2014 and it is not been used so often over the years. There has been periods of no usage. May be if the laptop was in intensive usage the problem would have appeared sooner. But the time is now. The laptop is in excellent state instead of the plastic defect of hp. But because this is design issue of the plastic, i am waiting for response of a moderator. Thank you.
