Microsoft Windows 11

Hi

SInce upgrading to WIndows 11 my SD slot has developed an issue

It will not read a micro SD card if it is contained within an adaptor. If a large SD is slotted in, it is fine. However, when I use a micro SD in an adaptor (so it will slot in correctly) it doesn't recognise it at all. The adaptor works well, as have tested on an identical envy with windows 10

Any ideas?

Thanks folks

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to see if installing the W11 Realtek SD card reader driver from a newer model notebook also works on yours.

I checked the driver file setup information file, and it appears it would work for your notebook.

10.0.22000.21353

Paul  Huge thanks for such a prompt reply.

I have launched the executable file and worked through the set up. I doesn't show a message to indicate it was successfully installed. How could I tell if it is (the adaptor is still not being read)

You're very welcome.

With a SD card in the slot, the Realtek card reader device should show up in the device manager.

Click on the Realtek SD card reader, click on the driver tab and there it should show the driver version and date.

According to the file, the driver version and date should be:

10.0.22000.21353   11/23/2021

Thanks Paul

The driver has  installed correctly

Unfortunately, even after a re-start of Windows it doesn't read the adapter

Any other suggestions?

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I don't have any other ideas you can try, since your notebook now has the latest driver for the Realtek SD card reader.
